shipping a vehicle

It’s not often that we are tasked with shipping a vehicle overseas but it does happen. Most of the time when we are asked to ship a vehicle, it is part of a residential move and is shipped alongside household goods.

No matter the reason you’re looking to ship a car, motorcycle, or boat, partnering with a licensed, insured, and bonded International Freight Forwarder can help you save time, money, and stress related to your shipment.

Importing –

It’s not just their size that makes vehicles tricky to ship; imported motor vehicles are subject to U.S. air pollution control (emission) standards, safety standards, and bumper standards.

If your vehicle is a returned US auto, your old car registration would simplify the import. Any shipper importing an auto into the USA must first check with the USA Customs site HEREWhether you ship motorcycles, boats or cars, shippers can access different services to maximize efficiency, loading, and shipping costs.

Exporting –

Exporting is a different story, and whether you ship motorcycles, boats, or autos, shippers can access different services to maximize efficiency & minimize loading & shipping costs.

Ocean Freight of Motorcycles

When shipping a motorcycle, shippers with 1 or few motorcycles can access our weekly consolidation to most world destination ports. The advantages of shipping motorcycles on a consolidation service is that we are able to ship them uncrated. They are instead blocked and braced inside the ocean containers.

Our operations handle the (original) title validations with the US customs on behalf of the shipper. Some shippers use a full container load and have us build a platform to maximize the space and minimize the cost. ETC Intl. Freight System load up to 25 motorcycles and parts into 1×40’ HQ container and ship to about any international destination ports.

Air Freight of Motorcycles

Unlike the ocean freight, air freighting a motorcycle requires crating it, emptying out fluid and disconnecting the battery. This service can be added by our warehouse. Like the ocean freight, we have a weekly air freight consolidation to most world airport destinations. Our operations handle for the shippers the (original) title validations with the US customs.

ETC Intl. Freight System can load up to 3 to 5 cars (size dependent) and parts into 1×40’ HQ container and ship to most international destination ports.

Shippers have a third option to some destinations when shipping a car overseas. We utilize the roll on roll up (RORO) service meaning your car ships in the belly of the ship. This service sails twice per month and it is limited to some origin and destination ports. So our shippers have one less thing to worry about, our operations handle the (original) title validations with the UA customs and the multiple car loading with ramps when needed.

Ocean Freight of Boats

Small boats on trailers can be brought to our warehouse if within the interior dimensions of 1×40’ HQ container. Similarly to cars, shippers with 1 or few boats can access our weekly consolidation to most world destination ports.

Boats on trailers are blocked and braced inside the ocean containers. The warehouse can dismantle the wheels of the trailer to accommodate the loading. Our operations handle for the shippers the (original) title validations with the US customs and ship to about any international destination ports. Shippers have a third option to some destinations when shipping boat on a trailer, using the roll on roll up service. Your boat ships in the belly of the ships.
