If you are moving overseas, one of the challenges you may face is how you will relocate your personal belongings both large and small. One item in particular you may be inclined to bring with you is your car.

There are two ways to ship a vehicle overseas: ocean freight or air freight. Most people will elect to ship via ocean freight because the cost of air freight for a large object often exceeds of 5 times or more than the ocean freighting. However the downside to ocean freight is it can take more than a month for your car to arrive at the intended destination. If time is of the essence, air freight might be the right choice for you.

Why NOT a freight forwarder?

Not everybody thinks of a freight forwarder as being the best resource for moving household items overseas. Most people don't think of freight forwarders at all, because there's already a group of movers out there dominating the residential market. Most freight forwarders don't even bother.

We do though. And after helping more people move their lives overseas than I can reasonably count, it seems like more of us should.

Why Moving Abroad is Best with Freight Forwarding, not Moving Services

FREIGHT FORWARDING... I thought that was just for commercial purposes, not moving abroad!

To be honest, not many international freight forwarders handle household goods & car shipping overseas, and most moving abroad end up using actual moving services. Seems like an intuitive decision, doesn't it?

Well, it wouldn't be the most illogical assumption I've heard, but unfortunately for those wanting to ship their household goods overseas, a move like that could be a rather costly one.
