Exporting a business and life to the other side of the world with one stop:

Montenegro is a small, mountainous state in south-west Balkans. It borders Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea. Over a year ago, our shipper had us ship 20’ & 40’ containers containing household goods & the content of a private clinic to Montenegro.

Today, he was completing his move a year later, as we assisted in closing out possibly the most significant move professionally and personally, that this person would ever make.

Receiving Accurate information from the shipper is the cornerstone to any trouble-free shipment. Unfortunately, even the smallest mistakes can be costly when it comes to international freight shipping.

We had a client recently where they did not accurately size up the height of their shipment, & ended up being 12” too high. To make it worse, we were shipping to a military base in an area that had many restrictions when it comes to freight.

Why NOT a freight forwarder?

Not everybody thinks of a freight forwarder as being the best resource for moving household items overseas. Most people don't think of freight forwarders at all, because there's already a group of movers out there dominating the residential market. Most freight forwarders don't even bother.

We do though. And after helping more people move their lives overseas than I can reasonably count, it seems like more of us should.

It's Spring, which means it's time for the fun to start!

Spring is tied to many things - such as warmth, new life, and something to look forward to (summer). We're in the second quarter, which means commerce is picking up just about everywhere, so this is also the time of year when shipments really start getting interesting.

I have a regular client who comes to me once a year - it's a trading company that's headquartered on the East coast. We deal with shipments from them where we export from the East, West, & Gulf Coasts to different Middle East & Mediterranean destinations for heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and the like.

This year's adventure did not fail to provide an interesting narrative. He wanted to know how to import from China to the US to Turkey.
